The Hearing Evaluation is:

Hearing Health History/ Exploring Current Hearing Problems

When a patient visits my office we will review their current overall health, medications they are taking, in addition their hearing health history (chronic ear infections, ear trauma, ear surgery, dizziness, sudden unexplained hearing loss, ear pain or drainage). We will also discuss what you may think is your current hearing problems, and how it is effecting your life & relationships.

We recommend that you bring a family member or friend to the hearing evaluation. If a hearing loss is diagnosed, we will review hearing rehabilitation and hearing aid options. Ear mold impressions can be made for your instrument during your initial visit. A custom-made hearing aid will be available within a few weeks.

Otoscopic Exam

We will exam the interior of your ear canal to check your ear drum for any abnormalities and ear wax buildup. If we discover any abnormalities we will immediately refer you to your physician.

Hearing Test

Comfortable earphones will be fitted onto your head so that we may conduct a simple, approximate 20 minute hearing test. During this test several tones and words will be used to determine what type of hearing loss you may have. You will be asked to signify if you can hear certain tones at different volume levels, and repeat words that that we speak to you. At no time will you experience any discomfort from these tests.
